Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

Cabrini believes in the power of intercollegiate athletics to build trust, unity and togetherness among people from all backgrounds. We also acknowledge that athletics are not immune to the impact of bias or discrimination. We accept that it is our responsibility to take action to reduce the impact of bias and discrimination so that our student-athletes, coaches and staff from all backgrounds are provided the best opportunity to be successful.

We view diversity, equity and inclusion as an integral element of our “Best is the Standard” mantra. In alignment with our Education of the Heart, we are committed to fostering an environment of equity and mutual respect, where student-athletes, coaches and staff of all backgrounds are empowered to engage, educate, grow, compete and lead… together.

The Cabrini Athletics Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Committee is dedicated to creating a culture of inclusivity through courageous conversations on topics of social justice and human rights, continuous social justice training, education, awareness and advocacy and recruitment and retention of under-represented student-athletes, coaches and staff.

In addition, the committee will work toward a goal of cultivating an environment where student-athletes and employees of every race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, nationality and disability are supported, embraced and celebrated. The committee consists of coaches and athletic administrators well as student-athletes from several different sports.
