Senior men’s tennis student-athlete Nate Martin has been named CabriniAtheltics.com Student Athlete of the Week for the week ending Sunday, April 22.
Martin’s play helped the Cavaliers clinch the number two seed in this weekend’s Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) tournament.
With a 6-0, 6-2 win over Rosemont College and 2-6, 6-3, 6-3 win against Marywood University, Martin completed a perfect conference season. The senior went unbeaten in conference singles play, finishing the season 7-0.
Along with doubles partner junior Ryan Juhring, Martin posted a 6-1 conference mark in the number three doubles flight. Their only defeat came in the final match of the year against Marywood.
Martin and the Cavaliers will face Baptist Bible College in the semifinal round of the 2012 CSAC Men’s Tennis Tournament on Friday at Easton, Pa.’s Northwood Racquet Club. First served is scheduled for approximately 12:00 p.m.
