RADNOR, Pa. – Junior women’s volleyball student-athlete Cassidy Koenig has been named the CabriniAthletics.com Student-Athlete of the Week for the week ending Sunday, October 26.
Last week, Koenig led the Blue and White to three victories, with 3-0 wins over Centenary and Cairn, and a 3-1 win over rival Neumann. The junior had five kills, four service aces, ten digs, and 78 assists last week.
Koenig recorded her 2, 811st assist in the final set against Neumann to break Lizzie Williams (2006-09) school record for career assists.
The junior leads the team with 708 assists and ranks second in the Colonial States Athletic Conference with 8.43 assists per set.
The Blue and White (22-5, 10-0 CSAC) will look to extend the program’s longest win streak of 16 matches tonight against the visiting Notre Dame of Maryland University Gators (10-12, 5-4 CSAC). The Cavaliers will celebrate the careers of their two seniors, Amy Guarino and Dana Wisniewski, prior to the match. First serve is set for 7 p.m.
