Senior volleyball student-athlete Alexis Doss has been selected as this week’s CabriniAthletics.com Student-Athlete of the Week. The honor is based on Doss’ athletic performance in matches between October 24-30, 2011.
Doss, a history major, paced the Cavaliers as they went 1-1 over the final week of the regular season.
Doss led Cabrini with 19 kills against just four errors and six blocks in a tough five-set loss to Haverford College. In the Cavaliers’ regular season finale, a 3-0 win at Keystone College, the senior added five kills and three solo blocks.
On the season, Doss is second on the team with 694 kills. Her 28 blocks rank third on the squad.
The Blue and White completed its regular season with an overall record of 20-10, its fourth consecutive season of at least 20 wins. The Cavaliers' 11-0 CSAC mark is the second time in three years the team has completed its conference schedule undefeated.
Doss and the Cavaliers will embark on their quest to capture a third consecutive CSAC crown on Thursday when they host a conference semifinal match at Nerney Field House. First serve is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
