IMMACULATA, Pa. – The Cabrini women's tennis team continued its torrid play against Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) competition Thursday, blanking Immaculata University, 9-0. The Cavaliers have yet to surrender a match in singles and doubles play versus a CSAC foe in 2008.
Cabrini cruised to a 3-0 match lead with three commanding wins in doubles play. Seniors Dina DiTaranto and Christine Telling paced the squad, earning an 8-1 win in the first position.
Junior Nicole Pontious and sophomore Stephanie Tighe claimed an 8-2 victory and the freshmen duo of Alexis DiCamillo and Michelle Lettman posted a resounding 8-0 triumph in the No. 3 position.
DiTaranto coasted to a 6-1, 6-0 win in the No. 1 position. Telling, Pontious, DiCamillo and Lettman each tallied straight set 6-0, 6-0 victories at the No. 2, 3 and 5 spots.
Tighe recorded a 6-2, 6-0 win at the No. 4 position.
The win was the 49th consecutive for fifth-year head coach John Magee against a conference opponent.
Cabrini (10-2, 5-0) continues CSAC play Saturday, October 4, hosting Gwynedd-Mercy College at 1 p.m.
