PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Cabrini women's tennis team suffered its first loss in the last 22 days Tuesday, dropping a 6-2 decision at Division II Philadelphia University. The Rams avenged a 6-3 loss at the hands of the Cavaliers September 2.
Cabrini's last loss was suffered September 7 against Moravian College. The Cavaliers were topped 6-3 at the Moravian College Invitational.
Sophomore Stephanie Tighe collected a win in singles play, rallying for a 5-7, 6-1, 7-6 triumph at the No. 4 position. Tighe improved her singles mark to 10-1 on the season.
Freshman Alexis DiCamillo recorded her ninth win of the 2008 campaign, tallying a straight-sets victory, 6-0, 6-2, at the five position.
In doubles play, Philadelphia University secured a 3-0 lead with three narrow victories. The Rams posted wins of 8-5, 8-5 and 8-6 at the one, two and three spots, respectively.
Cabrini (9-2, 4-0) looks keep its perfect record against Colonial States Athletic Conference opponents in tact Saturday at Immaculata University. Match time is set for 3:30 p.m. The Cavaliers have yet to lose a match in singles and doubles play this season versus a CSAC foe.
