Women's Tennis Ends Regular Season on High Note, Tops Baptist Bible College, 8-1

The Cabrini women's tennis concluded the regular season with a convincing 8-1 win at Baptist Bible College Wednesday.

CLARKS SUMMIT, Pa. –
The Cabrini women's tennis team concluded its 2009 regular season schedule in emphatic fashion, earning an 8-1 victory against Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) opponent Baptist Bible College Wednesday. The Cavaliers swept doubles play before tallying five victories in singles action.

Sophomores Alexis DiCamillo and Michelle Lettmann led off doubles competition with an 8-3 win at the No. 1 position against Katie Boger and Julie Herr. Sophomore Kourtney Spak and freshman Gabriela Durand followed with an 8-1 triumph in the two slot versus Kellie Bernard and Sarah Salzman.

Sophomores Bridget Killen and Melizza Kahn capped off the Cavaliers doubles performance with an 8-1 win against Emily Gehman and Ruth Oesterling in the No. 3 position.

DiCamillo started singles play with a 6-3, 6-1 win in the No. 1 spot against Boger, earning her seventh CSAC win of the season. Lettmann claimed her seventh conference victory also in the No. 2 position, downing Bernard, 6-3, 6-0.

Durand wrapped up a stellar rookie campaign in singles competition with her 11th win overall and ninth in CSAC play, blanking Herr, 6-0, 6-0, in the No. 3 spot.

Killen tallied an 8-0 triumph at No. 5 against Sharayah McMindes and Kahn posted a 6-4, 6-2 victory in the No. 6 hole versus Rebecca Wagner.

The Cabrini women's tennis team concludes the regular season with a 5-11 overall record and 5-5 mark against CSAC opponents.
