RADNOR, Pa. – The Cabrini women's tennis team had its two-match win streak ended Saturday afternoon following a 7-2 loss against Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) opponent Cedar Crest College. Sophomore Michelle Lettman tallied her third straight singles victory and fourth in the last five matches against the Falcons.
Lettmann earned a 6-4, 6-0 win at the No. 2 position against Alex Kuebler. She improved her overall singles record to 7-6 and bettered her mark against CSAC opponents to 5-3.
Freshman Gabriela Durand notched her sixth consecutive win in singles play and ninth in 10 matches in 2009, posting a 6-4, 6-2 triumph against Sarah Wicks at the No. 3 spot. Durand leads all Cavaliers with nine overall wins in singles competition and she is 7-1 versus conference foes.
The Falcons grabbed an upper-hand in the match, sweeping the three doubles matches before winning four of the six singles contests. Durand and sophomore Alexis DiCamillo, and Lettman and sophomore Kourtney Spak each suffered narrow 8-5 setbacks in doubles at the No. 1 and 2 positions, respectively.
With just three matches remaining in the regular season, Cabrini (3-10, 3-5) begins the stretch run of its CSAC schedule versus Immaculata University at home Tuesday, October 6. Match time is set for 3:30 p.m.
