RADNOR, Pa. - The Cabrini men's tennis team earned its first Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) win of the 2009 season Saturday, sweeping Baptist Bible College, 9-0, at the Dixon Courts. The Cavaliers dropped a 7-2 loss versus Lebanon Valley College in day's first match.
Sophomores
Mingkuang Luo and
John Van Wagner keyed Cabrini in singles play. Luo owned a 6-1, 6-0 victory at the No. 1 position, while Van Wagner posted a 6-0, 6-0 sweep at No. 2.
Sophomore
Michael Sim earned a 6-2, 6-1 win at the No. 3 position and freshman
Brendon Hajas posted a 6-2, 6-2 triumph at the No. 4 spot.
Freshman
Walter Jesuncosky battled to a 6-2, 3-6, 10-7 win at the No. 5 position. Freshman
Levent Beken posted a 6-4, 6-2 victory at the No. 6 spot.
Luo and Van Wagner teamed for an 8-4 win at the No. 1 position. Hajas and senior
Justin Walsh earned an 8-3 win at the No. 2 spot while Beken and Jesuncosky posted an 8-4 victory at No. 3.
Against Lebanon Valley, Walsh totaled a 6-1, 6-0 win at the No. 2 position. Walsh and Luo notched a 9-8 (7-2) triumph at the No. 1 spot in doubles play.
Cabrini (2-5, 1-1) resumes CSAC play Tuesday, March 24 at Immaculata University. Match time is set for 3:30 p.m.
