RADNOR, Pa. - The Cabrini men's tennis team claimed its third Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) win in the last three games, downing Keystone College, 8-1, Wednesday at the Radnor Racquet Club. The Cavaliers return to the .500 mark overall, owning a 5-5 record in 2009.
Senior Justin Walsh paced Cabrini singles play, posting his team-best eighth win of the season with an 8-0 victory against Phil Deltorto. Sophomore John Van Wagner rolled to an 8-2 win at the No. 2 spot versus Sean Hanahue.
Sophomore Michael Sim and freshman Brendon Hajas each earned 8-1 triumphs at the No. 4 and 5 positions, respectively. Rookie Levent Beken closed out the Cavaliers' singles' success, posting an 8-4 win at No. 6 against Keith Garubba.
The Blue & White swept doubles play behind an 8-0 victory from Walsh and Van Wagner at the No. 1 position versus Hanahue and Deltorto.
Hajas and Sim rolled to an 8-1 win at the No. 2 spot, while Beken and freshman Walter Jesuncosky notched an 8-4 triumph in the No. 3 hole.
Cabrini (5-5, 3-1) returns to the road Saturday, April 4 against CSAC opponent Marywood University. Match time has been moved up to an 11 a.m. start.
