SCRANTON, Pa. - The Cabrini men's tennis team captured its fourth straight win, including third consecutive in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) play, with a 6-3 victory at Marywood University Sunday.
Senior Justin Walsh won his fifth straight singles match and team-best ninth overall, topping Evan Bolus at the No. 2 position, 6-3, 6-2.
Sophomore Mingkuang Luo earned his sixth singles victory of the season, claiming a come-from-behind 3-6, 6-4, 6-2 triumph at the lead-off position against Greg Chilson.
Rookie Brendon Hajas matched Walsh's club-best win streak, totaling his fifth consecutive victory with a 7-6 (8-6), 4-6, 6-1 marathon victory versus Bao Nguyen at the No. 5 position.
Freshman Walter Jesuncosky posted a 6-1, 4-6, 6-3 win at the No. 6 position against John Domider.
The Cavaliers tallied two doubles wins, sparked by Luo and Walsh's 8-4 victory at the No. 1 spot against Bolus and Chilson. Jesuncosky and Hajas earned an 8-5 triumph at the No. 3 position versus Nguyen and Domider.
Cabrini (6-5, 4-1) returns home Tuesday, April 7 against Gwynedd-Mercy College. Match time is set for 3:30 p.m.
