ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The Cabrini women's tennis team won its fourth straight match on Thursday afternoon, coasting to a 7-2 victory against Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) opponent Cedar Crest College. The Cavaliers have captured seven of their eight matches against CSAC opponents this season.
Cabrini jumped out to a 2-1 advantage following doubles competition. Junior Alexis DiCamillo and freshman Katie Kennedy notched an 8-5 win at No. 1 against Sarah Wicks and Mackenzie Lee. Sophomore Gabriela Durand and freshman Adriana Scotto totaled an 8-2 victory at No. 2 versus Alexandria Kuebler and Amy Dichter.
Cassandra Bejar and Nina Colangeli earned a doubles win for the Falcons at the No. 3 position by way of default.
Kennedy jump-started the Blue & White in singles competition, posting her ninth win of the season at the No. 1 position, 6-0, 6-2 versus Wicks. Durand recorded her 12th victory with a 6-4, 6-1 triumph at the No. 2 spot against Kuebler.
DiCamillo is also at 12 wins in singles play, dropping Dichter at the No. 3 match, 6-4, 6-7 (4-7), 10-3. Scotto tallied her ninth victory, winning 6-0, 6-3 at No. 4 against Lee.
Freshman Victoria Nastala totaled her ninth win, as well, downing Colangeli, 6-3, 6-4, at the No. 5 position.
Bejar earned a singles victory at the No. 6 match by way of default.
Cabrini (12-2, 7-1) will play its final home match of the regular season on Saturday, Oct. 9 against CSAC opponent Philadelphia Biblical University. Match time against the Crimson Eagles is set for 12 p.m.
