LA PLUME, Pa. – The Cabrini men's tennis team returned to its 2010 Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) regular season schedule on Wednesday afternoon, traveling to Keystone College. Junior Joseph Stafford recorded his first singles win of the season in the Cavaliers' 8-1 loss.
Stafford notched his first victory of the season in the No. 6 singles position, downing John Moran, 6-2, 6-1. Stafford teamed with freshman Shane McKeon in an 8-2 loss at No. 3 in doubles competition versus Matthew Gentile and Isaiah Mosley.
The Giants also won at No. 1 and 2 in doubles competition. Cabrini's No. 1 team of sophomores Walter Jesuncosky and Jake Neary suffered an 8-1 loss against Chris Conte and Samual Dahmer. Senior Andrew Golden and sophomore Justin Lutteroty fell at No. 2, 8-1, versus Robert Gilroy and Sean Hanahue.
In singles competition, Jesuncosky dropped a 6-1, 6-2 decision in the lead-off spot versus Dahmer. Lutteroty endured a 6-1, 6-1 setback in the No. 2 spot against Conte.
Neary battled to a 7-6 (7-4), 6-4 loss in the No. 3 hole against Hanahue. McKeon suffered a 6-4, 6-2 loss at the No. 5 against Gilroy, while Golden fell at No. 5, 6-4, 6-4, against Gentile.
Cabrini (0-8, 0-5) plays its final non-conference match of the 2010 regular season on Monday, April 19 at Alvernia University. Match time against the Crusaders is set for 3:30 p.m.
