GWYNEDD VALLEY, Pa. – The Cabrini men's tennis team continued its Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) regular season schedule on Thursday afternoon, suffering a 9-0 loss at Gwynedd-Mercy College.
The Griffins sprinted to a 3-0 match advantage with a sweep in doubles play. Cabrini junior Joseph Stafford and freshman Shane McKeon battled to an 8-5 loss in the No. 3 position against Tim Munsey and Chris Keown.
Sophomores Walter Jesuncosky and Jake Neary dropped an 8-0 decision at No. 1, and senior Andrew Golden and sophomore Justin Lutteroty suffered an 8-1 setback in the No. 2 spot.
Lou Vessels started Gwynedd-Mercy's six-match sweep in singles competition, downing Jesuncosky in the top spot, 6-1, 6-3. McKeon sustained a 6-0, 6-0 loss at No. 2 versus Jared Morgan.
Lutteroty (2-6, 3-6) dropped his singles match at No. 3 versus Eric Trinkle, while Neary suffered a 6-3, 6-2 loss at No. 4 against Ryan Murray.
Golden fell at No. 5 position against Keown, 6-4, 7-6 (7-2). Stafford suffered an 8-4 setback in the No. 6 spot against Matt Johnson.
Cabrini (0-5, 0-3) returns home against CSAC opponent Marywood University on Saturday, April 10. Match time against the Pacers is set for 12 p.m.
