Women's Tennis Cruises Past Lebanon Valley College, 8-1

Sophomore Gabriela Durand posted her sixth singles win of the season in an 8-1 victory on Saturday.

RADNOR, Pa. –
The Cabrini women's tennis team returned to its winning ways on Saturday afternoon, cruising to a resounding 8-1 victory against Commonwealth Conference opponent Lebanon Valley College at the Dixon Courts. The Cavaliers swept singles competition en route to the win.

Freshman Katie Kennedy posted a 6-3, 6-0 victory for her fifth win of the season in singles action at the No. 1 position, downing Lauren Fulmer. Kennedy teamed with sophomore Gabriela Durand for an 8-2 win in doubles play at the No. 1 spot versus Fulmer and Tam Lobb.

Durand earned her sixth win of the 2010 campaign in singles competition, besting Alyssa Kulp, 6-2, 6-0, at the No. 2 spot.

Junior Alexis DiCamillo tallied her sixth singles win of the season, topping Tam Lobb at the No. 3 position, 7-6 (7-3), 6-3. DiCamillo and freshman Adriana Scotto suffered an 8-2 setback at the No. 2 spot against Kulp and Christie Graf in doubles play.

Scotto totaled a 6-3, 6-3 triumph at the No. 5 position against Cortney Swisher for her fourth win of the season.

Junior Michelle Lettmann also recorded her sixth win of the year in singles action, notchin a 6-2, 6-0 victory versus Graf. Lettmann and freshman Victoria Nastala logged an 8-4 win in doubles play in the No. 3 hole against Swisher and Lauren Shanberg.

Nastala is also at four singles wins this season after registering a 6-3, 7-5 win at the No. 6 position against Shanberg.

Cabrini (7-1, 3-0) remains at home against Centennial Conference opponent Bryn Mawr College on Tuesday, Sept. 21. Match time with the Owls is set for 3:30 p.m.
