RADNOR, Pa. –
The Cabrini women's tennis suffered its first loss of the season against a Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) opponent, and just its second overall, on Thursday, dropping a 5-4 decision versus rival Gwynedd-Mercy College at the Dixon Courts. The Cavaliers and Griffins did battle for nearly six hours before the No. 4 singles match decided the outcome.

Chelsea Jones clinched the victory for Gwynedd-Mercy with a come-from-behind 0-6, 7-5, 6-1 win against Cabrini junior Michelle Lettmann. The Cavaliers forced the decisive match at No. 4 after sophomore Gabriela Durand tallied a 6-2, 3-6, 6-4 victory at the No. 2 position versus Jess Scarpello.

Junior Alexis DiCamillo matched Durand in earning her team-leading eighth singles win of the season, topping Chelsea Donde at the No. 3 spot, 6-4, 6-4.

Freshman Victoria Nastala notched her sixth singles victory in 2010, downing Cori Wessner in the No. 6 match, 6-3, 6-4.

The Blue & White trailed the Griffins, 2-1, after doubles play. Lettmann and Nastala salvaged the Cavaliers' lone point, recording an 8-4 win at the No. 3 position against Jones and Wessner.

Cabrini (8-2, 3-1) continues its CSAC regular season schedule on Saturday, Sept. 25 at Immaculata University. Match time against the Mighty Macs is set for 12 p.m.
