Women's Tennis Cruises to 9-0 Win at Immaculata University

The Cabrini women's tennis team returned to the win column with a 9-0 victory at Immaculata University on Saturday.

IMMACULATA, Pa. –
The Cabrini women's tennis team returned to the win column on Saturday afternoon, cruising to a 9-0 victory at Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) opponent Immaculata University. The Cavaliers rolled to seven shut-out victories against the Mighty Macs.

Cabrini sprinted to a 3-0 cushion after a trio of 8-0 wins in doubles action. Junior Michelle Lettmann and freshman Victoria Nastala earned their team-leading eighth doubles win of the season, downing Olivia Kauffman and Elizabeth Strauch in the No. 3 spot.

Junior Alexis DiCamillo and freshman Katie Kennedy were paired for the first time this season and recorded an 8-0 victory against Felicia Thomas and Theresa Martini at the No. 1 position.

Sophomore Gabriela Durand and freshman Adriana Scotto also made their doubles debut, winning at the No. 2 spot, 8-0, against Julie Einwechter and Kelsey Piliero.

DiCamillo and Durand each logged their club-best ninth wins of the season in singles competition. Durand dropped Martini, 6-2, 6-0, at No. 2, while DiCamillo rolled to a 6-1, 6-0 triumph at No. 3 versus Einwechter.

Lettmann reached the eight-win plateau with a 6-0, 6-0 victory against Piliero at No. 4. Kennedy topped Thomas, 6-0, 6-0, at the No. 1 position for her seventh win of the season.

Nastala is also at seven wins this season in singles following a 6-0, 6-0 triumph versus Strauch at the No. 6 spot. Scotto totaled her sixth victory in 2010 with a 6-0, 6-0 win versus Kaufmann at No. 5.

Cabrini (9-2, 4-1) plays its final non-conference match of the season at home backyard-rival Eastern University on Tuesday, Sept. 28. Match time with the Eagles is set for 3:30 p.m.
