RADNOR, Pa. – The Cabrini women's tennis team is unbeaten through two matches in 2010 and started its Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) slate off on the right foot following an 8-1 victory against Neumann University on Saturday afternoon at the Dixon Courts.
The Cavaliers rolled through doubles play, jumping out to a 3-0 advantage. At the No. 3 position, junior Michelle Lettmann and freshman Victoria Nastala blanked Nicole Alexopoulos and Jennie Greenlee, 8-0.
Junior Alexis DiCamillo and rookie Adriana Scotto notched an 8-1 win at the No. 2 position against Gabrielle Porcelli and Khristine Acosta. Freshman Katie Kennedy and sophomore Gabriela Durand earned an 8-4 triumph in the lead-off spot against Michelle Steward and Jasper Thomson.
Lettmann powered the Blue & White in singles play, racing to a 6-0, 6-0 shutout victory against Acosta at No. 4. DiCamillo and Nastala each recorded 6-0, 6-1 wins at the No. 2 and 6 positions, respectively, versus Porcelli and Greenlee.
Kennedy totaled a 6-1, 6-0 victory at the No. 1 spot versus Thomson. Durand posted a 7-5, 6-1 win the No. 2 position against Steward.
The Knights earned their lone point of the match in singles competition at the No. 5 position. Alexopoulos was credited with a win by default against Scotto.
Cabrini (2-0, 1-0 CSAC) continues its CSAC regular season schedule on Tuesday, Sept. 7 at home against Marywood University. Match time against the Pacers is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
