RADNOR, Pa. - In conjunction with the men and women's basketball doubleheader on Jan. 31, Cabrini is teaming with backyard rival Eastern University in a canned food drive that benefits City Team Ministries. The Cabrini-EU canned food drive starts Monday, Jan. 24 and culminates next Monday.
The Cabrini women's basketball team will host the Eagles at 6 p.m., before the men's game tips at approximately 8 p.m. Beginning in 2008-09, the men's contest between the two rivals has been dubbed "The Battle of Eagle Road".
The Student-Athlete Advisory Committees from both schools have been tasked with coordinating the food drive. The food drive is a way for both institutions to work together in friendly competition to help those in need in the Delaware Valley.
Fans and students will be given one raffle ticket for every canned good donated at the Dixon Center on Jan. 31. Donation bins have been placed around campus.
