RADNOR, Pa. – The Cabrini College women's tennis remained undefeated with Friday's 8-1 home victory over the visiting Arcadia University Knights. The match was originally scheduled for September 20, but rescheduled due to weather.
The Cavaliers go off to a good start winning two of the three doubles matches. The number one pair of
Alexis DiCamillo and
Katie Kennedy improved to 2-0 with a 8-5 win.
Victoria Nastala and
Michelle Lettmann, Cabrini's number three team, moved to 4-0 with all four of their victories by similar 8-0 scores.
The Cavaliers' number two doubles team of
Adriana Scotto and
Samantha Trumbo lost a tough 9-8 match.
In singles play, Kennedy (#1), Lettmann (#3), Scotto (#4), and Trumbo (#5) each remained undefeated in on the season.
Kennedy surrendered her first individual game in number one singles since September 13 in her 6-1, 6-0 win. Lettmann and Scotto also won in straight sets 6-3, 6-2 and 6-4, 6-4 respectively. Trumbo was pushed to the limit, eventually prevailing 5-7, 10-8, 10-8.
DiCamillo (#2) and Nastala (#6) improved to 6-2 and 8-1 on the year, respectively, with their straight set wins.
Cabrini (8-0) will return to CSAC action on Saturday with a trip to Philadelphia Biblical University. First serve is scheduled for 12:00 p.m.
