IMMACULATA, Pa. – The Cabrini men's tennis team has ended its five-match losing skid with a 6-3 victory against Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) opponent Immaculata University on Monday afternoon. The Cavaliers swept doubles play for the first time this season en route to the victory against the Mighty Macs.
Juniors Justin Lutteroty and Ian Monson keyed the run in doubles action, winning at the No. 1 match, 8-3, against Nick Tarlecki and Demetrios Vlahos. Juniors Walter Jesuncosky and Nate Martin earned an 8-1 win at the No. 2 position against Chris Conlan and T.J. Klinger.
Senior Joe Stafford and junior Jake Neary completed the sweep with an 8-4 triumph at the No. 3 match against Eric Schmidt and Chad Mascitelli.
In singles play, Martin claimed his second straight win, downing Schmidt at the No. 3 position, 7-6 (7-4), 4-6, 10-6. Lutteroty captured his third consecutive victory and fifth in the last seven matches with a 6-0, 6-3 win in the No. 4 hole against Conlan.
Neary also posted his third straight victory and fourth in the last five contests with a 6-0, 6-1 win against Todd Stokley at the No. 6 match.
Cabrini (3-11, 2-2 CSAC) plays its second of five matches this week at Rosemont College on Tuesday, April 26. Match time against the Ravens is set for 3:30 p.m.
