READING, Pa. – The Cabrini College men's tennis team opened their Fall 2011 campaign with a 6-3 loss at Alvernia University. This was the first of three matches the Cavaliers will play during the fall. They will complete their season in the spring.
The Cavaliers opened the day by taking two of the three doubles matches. Senior
Walter Jesuncosky teamed with freshman
Anthony DiCicco to win number two doubles. The win was the first of DiCicco's collegiate career.
Senior
Nate Martin and sophomore
John Giovanelli won number three doubles. Each won with matching 8-4 scores.
Martin also notched Cabrini's solo individual match win with a 6-3, 6-4 win in number five singles.
The Cavaliers (0-1) will return to the court on September 13 when they travel to Abington, Pa. to face Penn State-Abington. The action is set to begin at 3:30 p.m.
