BRYN MAWR, Pa. – The Cabrini College men's swim team improved to 4-5 on the season with tonight's 99-62 win over Arcadia University. The Cavaliers posted victories in seven of the meet's 11 events to secure the win.
Cabrini got off to a great start as the team of
Nick Platt,
Evan Strickland, Rocco Del Monte and
Keith Marr won the night's first event, the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:47.21.
The pair of Marr and
Sean Tallon recorded two individual event wins on the night. Marr's opening victory came in the 200-yard freestyle (1:53.67). The Cavaliers swept the event, with
Brandon Mazepa and
Scott Hunt finishing second and third.
The Cavaliers also took three of the first four places in the 100-yard freestyle. Marr reached the wall first in 50:71, followed by
Chris Ryan and
Cody Kunze, who finished third and fourth, respectively.
Tallon bookended the meet with wins in the 1,000-yard freestyle in 11:38.40 and the 500-yard freestyle in 5:39.11.
Del Monte recorded a time of 57.43 in the 100-yard butterfly to win the event, followed by Tallon who finished second. The junior also finished second in the 50-yard freestyle in 24.02. Mazepa and Kunze also placed third and fourth, respectively, in the event.
Strickland also posted an individual win on the night, touching the wall in 2:08.70 to win the 200-yard individual medley.
The trio of Platt, Mazepa and Hunt also finished second, third and fourth in the 100-yard backstroke.
The Cavaliers will return to the pool on Friday night, as they swim in the Swarthmore College Invitational. Friday's action is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. The action will continue on Saturday with a morning session beginning at 9:30 a.m. and an afternoon session.
