ANNVILLE, Pa. - The Cabrini College men's swim team improved to 3-4 on the year after tonight's 102.5-95.5 win at Lebanon Valley College.
The Cavaliers opened and closed the meet with a pair of top two finishes in the relay events. The team of sophomores
Nick Platt and
Evan Strickland and juniors Rocco Del Monte and
Keith Marr opened the meet with a 1:58.38 to win the 200-yard medley relay.
Platt joined junior
Brandon Mazepa, sophomore
Scott Hunt and freshman
Chris Ryan to finish second in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:50.06.
The trio of Strickland, Del Monte and Marr led the Blue and White in the individual events. Strickland posted victories in the 50-yard freestyle (28.46) and the 100-yard breaststroke (1:13.72).
Del Monte recorded a 2:11.17 in the 200-yard freestyle to finish first, just ahead of Mazepa. The junior finished second in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:02.7, just 0.07 seconds out of the lead.
Marr won the 100-freestyle with a time of 55.90, after finishing behind Strickland in the 50-yard freestyle.
The trio of Platt, Mazepa and Hunt also swept the 100-yard backstroke, led by Platt's 1:10.91. Cabrini also took second and third in the 800-yard freestyle, as junior
Tim McCann finished second with a 10:08.30 followed by freshman
Sean Tallon.
Ryan also finished second in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:41.98.
The Cavaliers will return to action on November 15 when they visit Albright College. The action is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
