RADNOR, Pa. – The Cabrini ollege men's tennis team netted its second consecutive victory today, as the Cavaliers downed Immaculate University 8-1 at the Cabrini Courts. The Blue and White now stand at 2-0 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference and 2-7 overall.
The Cavaliers got off to a great start, sweeping the three doubles matches. At number one doubles, freshman
Anthony DiCicco and senior
Walter Jesuncosky won their third match of the season 8-4.
In the second slot, seniors
Ian Monson and
Justin Lutteroty posted an 8-2 victory. Senior
Nate Martin and junior
Ryan Juhring remained unbeaten this season with the 8-1 win.
The Blue and White's success continued into the singles matches, taking five of the six. DiCicco secured his first singles win of the year with a 6-2, 6-0 win in the number one position. After dropping the opening set 6-3, Jesuncosky rallied to take the second and third sets 6-3 and 10-6, respectively.
Martin dominated the number four singles slot with matching 6-0 set scores. Lutteroty also matched set scores, winning 6-1, 6-1 for his fourth win of the season at number five singles. Juhring improved to 3-1 in singles matches with a 6-0, 6-1 victory at number six singles.
The Cavaliers will return to the Cabrini Courts on Thursday when they host Ursinus College. First serve is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
