RADNOR, Pa. – The Cabrini College men's tennis team improved to 6-0 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) with today's 9-0 win over the visiting Rosemont College Ravens.
Today's victory sets up tomorrow's match between the top two conference teams, as the Cavaliers and the Marywood University Pacers meet for the top seed in next week's CSAC tournament.
The Cavaliers opened the match, sweeping the three doubles matches. Senior
Walter Jesuncosky and freshman
Anthony DiCicco won the number one flight match 8-3. Seniors
Ian Monson and
Justin Lutteroty took the number two doubles match by the same score.
At number three doubles, senior
Nate Martin and junior
Ryan Juhring improved to 6-0 against CSAC competition with their 8-4 victory.
The Blue and White's dominance continued in the singles matches. DiCicco improved to 4-2 in the conference with today's 6-1, 6-3 victory at number one singles. Monson's 6-0, 6-4 win evened his CSAC record at number two singles to 3-3.
Cabrini's trio of Martin, Lutteroty and Juhring continued their season long win streak against CSAC competition. Each of the trio improved to 6-0 in the league with today's straight set victories.
Marting took the number three flight win 6-0, 6-2. Lutteroty won the number four singles match 6-4, 6-3, while Juhring's 6-1, 6-0 victory moved him to 8-2 this season.
Sophomore
John Giovanelli won his first singles match of the season, securing the number six singles win 6-0, 6-0.
The Cavaliers will close their regular season tomorrow against Marywood. First serve is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. at the Cabrini Courts.
