RADNOR, Pa. – Cabrini's women's tennis team found itself on the short side of a 7-2 loss to the Marywood University Pacers today at the Dixon Courts.  The loss marks the first time since 2009 that the Cavaliers have dropped their season opener and opened the Colonial states Athletic Conference schedule with a loss.

The Blue and White found itself behind early, as it captured just one of the three doubles matches.  Junior Victoria Nastala and freshman Mia Scocozzo triumphed in the number three flight 9-7.  

The duo of junior Katie Kennedy and freshman Mackenzie Murray lost their number one doubles match by a matching 9-7 score.  Sophomore Samantha Trumbo and freshman Nicole Broccolino also lost a tough second doubles match 8-5.

Kennedy improved to 26-5 in her career at number one singles, securing the team's only singles match.

The Cavaliers will return to the court on Saturday, September 8 when they welcome the Cairn University Highlanders to campus.  First serve is scheduled for 12:00 p.m. at the Dixon Courts.
