RADNOR, Pa. – The Cabrini women's tennis team notched its first win of the year and inched head coach John Magee closer to the 100 career victory mark with today's 9-0 win over Cairn University at the Dixon Courts.
The match was moved up 30 minutes to avoid potential weather concerns but the change did nothing to slow the Cavaliers. Cabrini jumped out to an early lead after sweeping the three doubles matches.

Katie Kennedy and freshman
Nicole Broccolino captured their first doubles win with an 8-4 victory. At number two doubles, sophomore
Samantha Trumbo and freshman MacKenzie Murray posted an 8-1 victory, as did the third doubles duo of junior
Victoria Nastala and freshman
Mia Scocozzo.
The Cavaliers continued their dominance in the singles matches. Kennedy and Scocozzo bookended the singles matches with 6-0, 6-0 victories. Trumbo, at number two, and Broccolino, at number four, each dropped just one game their respective matches.
Nastala was pushed to the brink in the first set of her number three singles match, before rallying to win 7-5, 6-1. Murray also secured the 6-1, 6-4 victory.
The singles victories marked the first for the careers of Cabrini's three freshmen, Broccolino, Murray and Scocozzo.
The Blue and White will try to secure Coach Magee's 100th career match victory on Friday, September 14 when the Cavaliers welcome the Neumann University Knights to Dixon Courts. First serve is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
