RADNOR, Pa. – The Cabrini women's tennis team celebrated the careers of seniors
Katie Kennedy and
Victoria Nastala with a 9-0 victory over Notre Dame (Md.) today at the Dixon Courts. The victory improves the Cavaliers to 8-4 on the season and 7-1 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference.
Kennedy and Nastala have combined for 151 career victories and 11 All-CSAC nods, while leading the Blue and White to a pair of CSAC championship matches.
The Cavaliers got off to a hot start, sweeping the three doubles matches. Kennedy and sophomore
Nicole Broccolino earned an 8-0 victory in the number one doubles match. Junior
Samantha Trumbo and freshman
Elena Conway paired for an 8-1 win in the number two flight, while Nastala and sophomore
Mia Scocozzo posted an 8-3 win in the number three flight match.
Cabrini's solid play continued into the singles matches as it won all six by straight sets. Kennedy scored a 6-0, 6-1 win at number one singles, while Broccolino earned a 6-2, 6-4 win at number two. Trumbo claimed a 6-0, 6-1 win in the third flight match.
Conway scored a 6-2, 6-2 victory at number four singles, while Murray earned a 6-3, 6-0 win at number five. Nastala closed the sweep with a 8-1 pro set victory at number six singles.
The Blue and White hits the road on Saturday, making the short trip to Gwynedd Valley, Pa. to meet Gwynedd Mercy University (12-2. 7-0 CSAC). First serve is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
