GALLOWAY, N.J. – The Cabrini women's tennis team stumbled out of the gate in its 2013 season opening match.  The Cavaliers lost 7-2 to Richard Stockton College this afternoon in Galloway, N.J.

The Blue and White fell behind early, taking just one of the three doubles matches.  Senior Katie Kennedy and sophomore Nicole Broccolino paired for an 8-6 victory at number one doubles.    

Junior Samantha Trumbo and sophomore Mia Scocozzo fell 8-2 at the second flight, while sophomore Mackenzie Murray and freshman Elena Conway dropped their number three doubles match 8-3.

The Cavaliers could not swing the momentum as the action turned to singles matches.  Kennedy captured Cabrini's only singles point with a 6-4, 6-2 win at number one singles.   Conway pushed her first career singles match to a third set before ultimately falling 6-4, 5-7, 10-8.

The Blue and White will return to action on September 10 when they cross the Delaware River to face Rutgers University-Camden.  First serve is slated for 4:00 p.m.
