Box Score

READING, Pa. –
The Cabrini women's tennis team had its six match win streak snapped today at the hands of Alvernia University.  Cabrini's 7-2 loss drops the Blue and White to 6-3 on the season.

The Cavaliers fell behind early as the Crusaders swept the three doubles matches.  Senior Katie Kennedy and sophomore Nicole Broccolino suffered their first loss of the season, losing their number on doubles match 9-8, 7-2 in the tie breaker.  At number three doubles, sophomores Mackenzie Murray and Mia Scocozzo rallied from a 6-1 deficit before falling 9-7.

The Blue and White could not swing the momentum, earning just two singles wins.  Murray earned her seventh win of the season with today's 6-3, 6-1 win at number four singles.  In the number five flight, senior Victoria Nastala improved to 6-2 this season with her 6-1, 6-3 victory.

Kenedy also dropped her first singles match of the season, falling 8-4 in the number on singles flight.  Broccolino also suffered an 8-4 pro set loss at number two singles.  Freshman Elena Conway fell in straight sets in the number three flight, while Scocozzo took her first set 6-2 at number six singles before dropping the second and third 6-3 and 10-3, respectively.

The Cavaliers will look to start a new streak on Saturday when they return to CSAC action with a trip to Cairn University.   First serve is slated for 12 p.m.
