SCRANTON, Pa. – Cabrini's five match win streak came to an end today, as the men's soccer team suffered a 1-0 loss at Marywood University.  The loss drops the Cavaliers to 8-5 overall and 4-1 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference.  

The Blue and White struggled to get its offense on track today, attempting just eight shots, including a season low two attempts on goal.  The club's one corner kick also matched a season low.

Despite each team recording six shots in the opening 45 minutes of action, the score remained scoreless at the half.

The Pacers turned up its pressure after the break, outshooting Cabrini 6-2.

The match remained scoreless until the final minute of action.  Just as the Blue and White looked as though it would head to overtime for a third consecutive match, Marywood took advantage of a Cabrini penalty.  

Marywood's Kris Kassel played a direct kick that bent inside the left post with just under one minute on the clock for the match's lone tally.

The Cavaliers created a late chance, earning its only corner kick of the day with less than 20 seconds to play but to no avail.

Sophomore Ryan New recorded two shots for the Cavaliers, while fellow sophomore C.J. Serratore posted four saves in the loss.

The Cavaliers will regroup before returning to action on Tuesday, when it welcomes Baptist Bible College (4-9, 2-2 CSAC) to Edith Robb Dixon Field.  Kickoff is scheduled for 4:00 p.m., as the first half of a men's soccer and field hockey doubleheader.
