IMMACULATA, Pa. – The Cabrini women's soccer team won its third consecutive match with today's 2-0 win at Immaculata University. The victory improved the Cavaliers to 4-0 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference and 5-6 overall.
Junior
Devon Miller put Cabrini on the board in the 17th minute, when she converted a through pass from senior
Kaitlin Zisa into her sixth goal of the campaign.
The Cavaliers turned up the defense after the halftime break, holding the Mighty Macs without a shot in the second half.
The Blue and White carried its slim lead until the 56th minute when junior
Meghan Martin beat two defenders to notch her fourth goal of the season.
Cabrini outshot the Mighty Macs 16-3 and earned eight corner kicks to Immaculata's three. Miller tallied a team high five shots, including three on target, while senior
Melissa Scanzano fired three.
Freshman
Alivia Dietsch recorded one save to secure her third shutout of the season.
Meghan McCurnin recorded five saves in 45 minutes of action for Immaculata (1-9, 1-3 CSAC).
The Cavaliers will return to Edith Robb Dixon field on Wednesday, when they host Centenary College (4-5-1, 3-0 CSAC). Kickoff for the CSAC match is slated for 6:30 p.m.
