RADNOR, Pa. – The Cabrini men's tennis team extended its win streak to four matches with today's 7-2 win over the visiting Keystone College Giants. The victory improves the Cavaliers to 4-10, including 3-4 in the CSAC.
The Blue and White jumped out to a commanding lead as it swept the three doubles matches. Juniors
Anthony DiCicco and
Sean Neary won their fourth consecutive match, taking the number one singles match 8-3. Sophomore
Colin Kilroy and freshman
Joe Pacifico won their fourth match of the year with their 8-3 win at number two doubles. Brothers Joe and
Mike Halbherr scored an 8-4 win at number four doubles for their third straight win.
The Cavaliers continued their solid play as the focus turned to the singles matches. DiCicco improved to 6-1 in the CSAC with a hard fought 7-5, 2-6, 10-7 victory at number one singles. Pacifico scored his sixth win of the season with a 6-1, 6-3 win at number two singles.
Neary won his sixth consecutive number three singles match, scoring a 6-2, 6-1 win. Kilroy and senior
Joe Halbherr suffered tough three set losses at four and five singles, respectively, while freshman
Mike Halbherr's 9-8 (7-2) pro-set win at number six singles extended his personal win streak to three.
Cabrini will return to the court on Wednesday as it travels to Reading, Pa. to face Alvernia University (8-7, 5-0 CSAC). First serve is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
