Box ScoreRADNOR, Pa. - The Cabrini women's tennis team opened its CSAC slate today at the Dixon Tennis Courts with an 8-1 victory over Neumann University. The win improves the club's record to 3-1 overall and 1-0 in the CSAC.
The Cavaliers came out of the gates strong in this tilt as they swept all three doubles matches. Juniors Terra Mchenry and
Tori Yeich improved to 2-1 in doubles play following their 8-2 victory in number one doubles. Senior
Samantha Trumbo and sophomore
Elena Conway moved to 2-2 in doubles play after their 8-2 win in number two doubles. Junior
Nicole Broccolino and freshman
Maggie Javitt were able to send the Blue and White into singles play with a commanding 3-0 lead following their 8-4 win in number three doubles.
The strong play continued over to singles play where Cabrini won 5 of 6 matches. Trumbo earned her first singles match win with a 6-0, 6-2 victory. Conway defeated her opponent 6-2, 6-1 to move to 3-1 on the season in number five singles. Javitt also improved to 3-1 in singles play following her dominant 8-1 performance in number six singles.
The Blue and White are back in action Saturday as they will host Marywood University (1-0). First serve is scheduled for 12 p.m. at the Dixon Courts.
