RADNOR, Pa. - The women's tennis team topped Baptist Bible College today in a 9-0 sweep. The Cavaliers improved to 6-2 on the season and 4-0 in the CSAC with the victory.
Cabrini took all three matches in doubles play. Juniors
Terra McHenry and
Tori Yeich came away with the 8-3 number one doubles victory to start the day. Senior
Samantha Trumbo and sophomore
Elena Conway mustered the 8-4 number two doubles win, while junior
Nicole Broccolino paired with freshman
Maggie Javitt to complete the 8-0 doubles sweep.
The Cavaliers were able to finish the Defenders with a dominant performance in singles play. McHenry fell in her first set, but quickly recovered to capture the 6-4, 10-5 set victories in her number one singles win. Trumbo posted a 6-2, 6-1 number two doubles win, improving her record to 4-4 on the season. Yeich carried her solid play over to number three singles where she topped her opponent 6-3, 6-0.
Broccolino moved to 5-3 following her 6-0, 6-0, number 4 singles win. Conway has now won two straight in singles play after she defeated her opponent 6-0, 6-1 in number 5 singles. Junior
Amy Held would cap off the solid victory with her first collegiate win.
The Blue and White are back in action tomorrow as they travel to Annville, Pa. to take on Lebanon Valley College (1-1). First serve is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
