RADNOR, Pa. - Cabrini welcomed Cairn University to the Dixon Courts today and earned the 8-1 victory. The Cavaliers moved to 8-3 on the year and 6-0 in the conference.
Cabrini got off to a great start, winning all three doubles matches. Juniors Terra McHenry and Tori Yeich set the tone early with their 8-5 victory, as the duo improved to 6-3 on the season as a doubles pair. Sophomore Elena Conway and junior Nicole Broccolino won their number two doubles match 8-1. Freshman Maggie Javitt paired with fellow rookie Stefanie Barkofski to earn the 8-1 number three doubles win.
The Blue and White kept the momentum going into singles play, taking five of six matches. After dropping the first singles match, senior Samantha Trumbo got the Cavaliers back on track with a number two singles win in straight sets.
Yeich and Broccolino scored straight set victories in their number three and four singles matches, respectively. Conway remained unbeaten in the conference as she moved to 5-0 on the season after picking up the win in her number five singles match. Javitt capped off the day with the 6-3, 6-3 number six singles win.
The Cavaliers are back in action on Tuesday as they host Eastern University (1-1). First serve is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. at the Dixon Courts.
