RADNOR, Pa. - The Cabrini women's tennis team welcomed Eastern University to the Dixon Courts today in another edition of the Battle for Eagle Road. The Cavaliers scored a 5-4 win over the Eagles, improving to 9-3 with the victory.
The Blue and White got off to a good start, taking two of three doubles matches. Senior
Samantha Trumbo and sophomore
Elena Conway won their number two doubles match 8-4. Freshman
Katie Muska, who made her collegiate debut today, joined fellow rookie
Maggie Javitt to earn the 9-8 victory, sending the Cavaliers into singles play with the 2-1 advantage.
Cabrini secured the victory by winning three of the six singles matches. Junior
Nicole Broccolino won her number three singles match 6-0, 6-0, extending her personal singles win streak to five matches. Conway improved to 10-2 after picking up the 6-4, 6-2 number four singles win. Javitt secured the win, scoring a 6-0, 6-4 victory in her number five singles match.
The Cavaliers are back in action on Friday as they travel to Immaculata University (7-2, 4-1 CSAC) to face the Mighty Macs. First serve is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
