NEWARK, N.J. – The Cabrini men's soccer team needed over 102 minutes to extend its win streak to four matches, as the Cavaliers scored a 2-1 double overtime win at Berkeley (N.J.) College. With the victory, the Blue and White improves to 8-1-2 on the season.
Despite being outshot 11-3 in the first half, Berkeley grabbed a 1-0 lead in the 44th minute on a direct kick from 30 yards.
The Cavaliers evened the score in the 61st minute, as junior
Bobby Kane notched his fifth goal of the season. Freshman
Jared Irwin's cross found fellow rookie
Lucas Lampertti who flicked a pass to Kane.
Cabrini earned four corner kicks to none for the Knights and outshot Berkeley 13-6 in the second half, but could not find the right combination to break the tie.
The Blue and White created several scoring chances in the first overtime, recording four shots, including a pair on goal, but the score remained tied.
Berkeley had a pair of chances early in the second overtime period, with one shot hitting the crossbar and another saved by junior goaltender

In the 103rd minute, sophomore
Joe Fiore drew a foul inside the Berkeley penalty area, sending the Cavaliers to the penalty spot. Junior
Mo Konneh converted the penalty kick for his second game-winning goal of the season.
The Cavaliers recorded a season-high 29 shots in the win, led by Irwin's seven. Fiore and Kane added five shots each. Serratore finished the game with five saves.
Joao Parreiras scored for Berkeley (2-9), while goaltender Arturo Botero notched eight saves.
The Cavaliers will hit the road on Saturday, as they travel to Clarks Summit, Pa. to face Summit University (2-8, 0-2 CSAC). Kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m.
