ASTON, Pa. – The men's tennis team fell to 0-5 on the season after falling 5-4 at Neumann in the Colonial States Athletic Conference opener for both clubs.
Cabrini came out hot, taking two of the three matches in doubles play. In number one doubles, Senior
Anthony DiCicco and freshman
Alijah Broadnax earned an 8-5 win. Freshmen
Hugo Ballon and
Kyle Gormley looked to take number two doubles but a late comeback effort by the Knights led to a 9-7 loss. Junior
Colin Kilroy and sophomore
Mike Halbherr earned an 8-2 win in number three doubles.
The Cavaliers could not carry its momentum into the singles matches, as it earned just two victories in the six matches. Broadnax secured a 6-3, 6-4 win at number two singles, while Ballon earned a 6-1, 6-4 victory in the number three match
The Blue and White is back in action on Saturday when it welcomes Keystone (0-0, 0-0 CSAC) to the Dixon Courts at 12 p.m.
