Box ScoreLANGHORNE, Pa. - The Cabrini women's tennis team scored a 6-3 win over Cairn today to open its 2015 Colonial States Athletic Conference schedule. The win improves the Blue and White to 2-2 on the season and 1-0 in the CSAC.The Highlanders earned the day's first victory with an 8-6 win at number one doubles.
The Cavaliers answered, taking the next two doubles wins. Seniors Nicole Broccolino and Tori Yeich scored an 8-0 number two doubles victory, while sophomores Stefanie Barkofski and Maggie Javitt won their number three doubles match 8-4.
After falling in number one singles, the Blue and White went on to win the next three singles matches to capture the win.
Broccolino won her number two singles match 4-6, 7-5, 10-8. Junior Elena Conway scored a 6-1, 6-1 number thee singles win, while Yeich won her number four singles match 6-1, 6-2.
The Cavaliers fell in number five singles but the match victory was already secure. In number six singles, Javitt was leading 6-1 after the first set, before her opponent retired.
The Cavaliers have little time to rest, as they are back in action tomorrow morning against Immaculata (1-0, 1-0 CSAC). The match will be held at Dixon Courts at 11 a.m.
