CLARKS SUMMIT, Pa. - The Cabrini women's tennis team is on a roll, as the Blue and White shut-out Summit 9-0 in today's match. The Cavaliers improve to 5-3 overall and remain unbeaten, with a 4-0 record in conference action.
Cabrini jumped out to an early 3-0 lead after doubles play. Senior
Terra McHenry and junior
Elena Conway earned their second number one doubles win on the season, after topping their opponents 8-4.
Seniors
Nicole Broccolino and
Maggie Javitt paired to win their number two doubles match 8-0, while sophomores
Stefanie Barkofski and
Kimberly Pepenella secured an 8-1 number three doubles victory.
The Cavaliers stayed hot in singles, winning all six matches. McHenry opened with a 6-3, 6-1 number one singles win and Broccolino followed, earning a straight set victory in number two singles.
Conway also won her singles match in straight sets, after topping her opponent in number three singles. Barkofski scored a 6-0, 6-2 win in number four singles, earning her fourth singles victory on the year.
Javitt won her number five singles match in straight sets, while senior
Amy Held scored a 6-1, 6-0 number six singles victory to help ice the Defenders.
Cabrini will be back in action on Tuesday, as the Blue and White welcomes Lebanon Valley College (1-0) to the Dixon Courts at 3:30 p.m.
