CAMDEN, N.J. – The Cabrini women's soccer team fell to 0-2 on the young season after tonight's 4-1 loss at Rutgers-Camden.
The Cavaliers struggled to find their momentum, as the Scarlet Raptors jumped to an early lead. After a 14th minute goal, Rutgers-Camden expanded its cushion with goals in the 23rd and 24th minutes.
After a disappointing first half that saw just five total shots, the Blue and White refocused for the second half.
Sophomore
Taylor Tralie put Cabrini on the board in the 65th minute, notching the club's first goal of the season. Classmate
Brittany Runyen's long pass sprung Tralie, who fired a shot high inside the right post.
Despite being outshot 20-11 on the night, both teams fired five shots on goal. Sophomore
Lisette Hrapmann recorded a team-high four shots, two more than Tralie and senior
Kaitlyn Cooper.
Sophomore
Alivia Dietsch and junior
Marissa Jenkins split time minding the Blue and White goal, notching one save.
The Cavaliers will have a few days to regroup before facing Eastern in Wednesday's Battle for Eagle Road. Kickoff is scheduled for 4 p.m.
