ROSEMONT, PA – The Cabrini women's tennis team kept itself in position to compete for a berth in the Colonial States Athletic Conference tournament today, as it scored an 8-1 victory at Rosemont College.
The victory improved the Cavaliers to 6-3 in CCSAC play and evened their overall record at 7-7.
With one match remaining in the season, the Blue and White is tied with Notre Dame of MD for the tournament's number four seed. Cabrini will close its season in Baltimore, as it will face the Gators at 1pm for the postseason berth.
The Blue and White got off to a great start, as it cruised to wins in all three doubles matches.
At number one doubles, senior
Elena Conway and junior
Maggie Javitt scored an 8-1 victory, while the Cavaliers numbers two and three pairs, junior
Stefanie Barkofski and freshman
Lucy Travers and freshmen
Lattana Sithara and
Sydney Lynch rolled to matching 8-0 wins.
Cabrini continued its momentum in the singles play, capturing five of the six matches, surrendering just three games in their five singles wins.
Javitt suffered the only loss of the day, falling 10-8 in a third set tiebreaker.
