RADNOR, PA – The Cabrini men's soccer team secured the number three seed in next week's Colonial States Athletic Conference Tournament with today's 2-0 victory over Keystone College.
With today's win, the Cavaliers closed their regular season 10-6-1 and 7-2 in the conference.
Today also marked the final regular season home game for the Blue and White's eight seniors,
A.J. Bishop,
Tyler Bond,
Kyle Chevalier,
Bobby Kane,
Ryan New,
Ben Roda,
C.J. Serratore and
John Underwood.
Kane and Bishop recorded second half goals, as the class scored its 49th career victory.
Despite outshooting the Giants 7-2 and earning six corner kicks to none for Keystone, the scoreboard remained blank after 45 minutes.
Kane opened the scoring in the 64th minute, converting an Underwood pass into his seventh goal of the season. Bishop sealed the victory in the 72nd minute, turning a pass from freshman
Christopher Araujo into Bishop's CSAC leading 14th goal.
Serratore recorded four saves to secure his 12th career shutout. Bishop joined Araujo and junior
Joe Fiore with two shots each.
Haris Sabovic led Keystone (9-6-1, 6-3 CSAC) with three of its seven shots.
In addition to Senior Day, the Cavaliers also held their annual Alumni Game, as well as a canned food drive to benefit Philabundance.
The Cavaliers will open tournament play on Tuesday at 7pm, as it welcomes sixth seed Gwynedd Mercy (9-10, 5-4 CSAC) comes to Edith Robb Dixon Field for a first round match.
Cabrini scored a 1-0 win over the Griffins on Oct. 8 on Kane's 70th minute goal.
