RADNOR, PA – The Cabrini women's tennis team snapped its three match losing streak and celebrated its seniors in grand fashion today, as the Cavaliers scored an 8-1 victory over Clarks Summit today at the Dixon Tennis Courts.
With the win, the Blue and White improved to 5-2 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference and 6-5 overall.
Prior to today's match, Cabrini honored its two seniors,
Elena Conway and
Katie Muska. First year head coach
Carol White spoke about the duo's influence on the program before the team recited a touching poem about Conway and Muska.
The Blue and White were all business when the focus turned to the courts, opening the match with three doubles wins.
Conway joined junior
Stefanie Barkofski to earn an 8-3 win in the number one slot, while Muska and freshman
Lucy Travers cruised to an 8-0 win at number two doubles.
The Cavaliers did not slow down as the action turned to singles play. Cabrini captured five points in the six singles matches, with Muska and sophomore
Lexi Douglass earning matching 6-0, 6-0 wins at numbers four and five singles, respectively.
Cabrini will look to begin a win streak on Saturday, as it visits Immaculata (9-4, 5-2 CSAC) at 12 noon.
