A pair of Startare free throws sent the Cavaliers into the final period with a 51-44 lead.
The Griffins cut the lead to 51-48 in the early minutes of the fourth quarter, but the Cavaliers responded with a 7-0 run on two buckets by Oliver and a Startare triple. Cabrini never allowed GMercyU to get within six points, as it connected on 7-10 from the free throw line in the final 1:44.
Charlotte Kucowski led GMercyU (20-6) with 21 points on 9-13 shooting and seven rebounds. Nicole Dombrowski and Julianna Hoisington added nine points each.
Cabrini scored an 82-46 win at Neumann when the teams met on Jan. 9. Five Cavaliers scored at least eight points, led by Washington's career high 14 points off the bench. Martin tallied 13 points, while Startare hit 5-6 from the floor en route to a season high 12 points.
The Cavaliers closed the second quarter on a 19-4 run, as they held Neumann to just 2-11 shooting and forced eight turnovers. By the half, the Blue and White owned a 43-22 lead.
The victory may have been one of Cabrini's best offensive performances of the season, as the team's 82 points marked a season high, as did the team's 29 made field goals, 18 made free throws, 15 assists and 14 steals.
