SCRANTON, Pa. – The Cavaliers used a pair of six goal stretches to establish an unsurmountable lead, as Cabrini scored a 15-7 win at Marywood University.
With the win, the Blue and White improved to 3-2 on the year, including 2-0 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference. Cabrini's third consecutive win also extended the club's CSAC win streak to 33 games.
Six Cavaliers marked the scoring column today, with junior
Allie Vallen and sophomore
Jackie Neary leading the way with four goals each. Junior
Jess Breuning and sophomores
Sasha Wozniak and
Emily Crouse added two goals each.
Vallen and Breuning also scooped five ground balls each, while Breuning collected seven draw controls. Senior
Mo O'Connell caused a career high five turnovers to go with four ground balls. Freshman
Katie Kucia matched O'Connell's four ground balls. Neary caused three turnovers, while a quartet of Cavaliers forced two each.

The Blue and White took control of the game in the opening minutes, as Neary netted an unassisted goal 100 seconds into the game. The sophomore doubled the lead at the 22 minute mark with a goal that sparked a run of five unanswered goals in a span of 2:12. Wozniak hit Vallen 15 seconds later, with Neary completing her hat trick with 20:46 left in the half.

Emma Rodner-Tims.
Marywood got on the board with 6:20 left in the half, before Vallen's second goal pushed the Cavaliers' lead back to six goals. The Pacers closed the first half with a flurry, netting three goals in the final 5:15, with two coming within 35 seconds of the halftime break. Marywood seemed to have gained the game's momentum, cutting its deficit to 7-4 at the half.
Any questions about the outcome were answered in the opening minutes of the second half, as Wozniak and Neary scored unassisted goals in the first minute of the second stanza. The sophomores began a string of eight unanswered and unassisted Cabrini goals.
Vallen completed her hat trick at the 21:30 mark, with Breuning a goal foru minutes later. Vallen, Crouse and Breuning extended the lead to 14-4, scoring three goals in a span of four minutes. Wozniak completed the scoring with 6:40 to play, swelling the Blue and White cushion to 15-4.
The Cavaliers dominated the second half of today's game, outshooting the Pacers 18-7. Cabrini forced 12 second half free position shots, scoring six goals, and only allowed five Marywood clears in 12 opportunities.
Katrina Kelly and Ashley Valway tallied three goals each for the Pacers (1-5, 1-1 CSAC), while goaltender Lauren Smith posted 12 saves.
The Cavalier will return to Edith Robb Dixon Field on Tuesday, as they host Swarthmore College (3-2) in nonconference action. The opening draw is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
