RADNOR, Pa. – The Cabrini men's tennis team picked up its first win of the season, as the Cavaliers earned a 9-0 win over the Rosemont Ravens today. With the win, the Blue and White improves to 1-9 overall and 1-3 in the CSAC.
Cabrini took all three doubles matches to put the pressure on the Ravens in singles play. Sophomore
Alijah Broadnax and junior
Sean Jaeger scored an 8-1 number one doubles win. Junior
Tyler Bond and freshman
Nick Scaramuzza won their number two doubles match, 9-8, while juniors
Mike Halbherr and
Bruce Overbay earned a convincing 8-1 number three doubles victory.
It was all Cabrini in singles play, as the Blue and White swept all six matches.
Broadnax scored a 6-1, 6-1 number one singles win, while Jaeger followed, winning his number two singles match in straight sets. Halbherr won his number three singles match 6-1, 6-1. In number four singles, Bond scored a 6-0, 7-5 win, while Scaramuzza and Overbay earned straight set victories in five and six singles, respectively.
The Cavaliers host Division II Philadelphia University (5-9, 2-1 CACC) on Wednesday, as the Blue and White looks to build off its victory. Match time is set for 3:30 p.m.
