RADNOR, Pa. – The Cabrini softball team scored a pair of victories over Cairn today, topping the Highlanders 27-2 in game one, before earning a 19-0 win in the nightcap. The wins improve the Blue and White to 13-10 on the year and 10-0 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference.
The Cavaliers jumped out to an early lead, after tallying 15 runs in the first inning on just four hits, nine walks and five errors.

Sarah Beckner's double to left field. After recording a walk in her first at bat, Ferraro tripled to right center, as junior

In the second inning, the Blue and White combined for eight runs on a pair of grand slam home runs from junior
Taylor Gallagher and sophomore
Brittany Smith. Gallagher's homer marked the first of this season, while Smith's pinch hit home run was the first of her collegiate career.
Cabrini added a pair of runs in the third and fourth innings. With one on, Gallagher notched her second round tripper of the evening, as the junior sent one over the left field wall.
Gallagher finished 2-4 and recorded a game high eight RBI. In the circle, the sophomore picked up her first win, after tossing five innings and striking out two Highlanders.
Eight Cavaliers notched at least one hit in the win, as the Blue and White out hit the Highlanders 10-5.
In game two, Cabrini scored seven runs on eight hits in the first inning. Ferraro and Dietrich singled to start the inning. Ferraro scored on Cooper's double down the left field line. Alpaugh followed with a single to left field, plating Dietrich. Savar's single through the right side scored Cooper.

Darian Caputo singled to left field, scoring Savar on the next at bat. Sophomore
Victoria Hall's single to right center plated Hohman. Ferraro closed the scoring with an RBI walk.
The Cavaliers extended their lead to 19-0 after a big second inning. The Blue and White scored 12 runs on 10 hits and two errors.
Caputo led the Cabrini offense with a game high three RBI, while Hall, Franchville, Smith and Cooper each notched a pair. Savar added a game high three runs scored in the win.
The Cavaliers combined for 19 hits, while holding the Highlanders to just four through five innings of play.
Hohman improved to 4-4 in the pitcher's circle. The sophomore pitched five innings, struck out one Highlander and held Cairn scoreless.
The Blue and White is on the road Friday, as it travels to Gwynedd Valley, Pa. to face Gwynedd Mercy (14-6, 5-1 CSAC) in a CSAC doubleheader at 3 p.m.
